Book Terminology
Like any other profession, book publishers and dealers have evolved a specialized language for describing
their products. If you are new to the hobby of collecting books, the terminology can throw you: gutters, hinges, and headbands seem to have nothing to do with books.
Hopefully, the following pages will help clarify some terms, and help you become a more knowledgable book buyer or book seller.
